September 20-26, 2021

A whopping 1,400 contestants will gallop for victory in Europe’s biggest horse-and-cart race on September 25.
Freshly-revived after being scrapped in 2012, La Route du Poisson (Fish Trail) will follow the historic route covered by Boulogne-sur-Mer’s fish hauliers to deliver the morning’s catch
in Paris.
Some 20 teams and 440 carthorses are expected to compete in the strenuous 24-
hour dash to the capital’s iconic Champ de Mars.
In a symbolic nod to the hauliers of yore, the race will be brought to a close by a fish delivery to the Elysée Palace.
Meanwhile a pop-up village in
Le Touquet-Paris-Plage will welcome revellers for five fun-packed days of activities, horse trials and enough fishy delights to stuff foodies to the gills.
Launched in 1991, La Route du Poisson was set up by the organisation of the same name in a bid to safeguard endangered carthorse breeds.
